New salon aims to be cut above New Business Pictures

LIZ Williams's new business is rather like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Two months ago she was made redundant by her former employers.

She says the news came as a shock. Now she is set to open her own new hairdressing salon, under a new name, Bouffant, in the same premises in West Street, Gorseinon.

And Liz, from Pantiago Road, Pontarddulais, says she is aiming to get ahead with the salon.

It is a new salon and will be more comfortable.

"It is going to be a better atmosphere and environment for the clients," said Liz, aged 20. "She will be working with 30-year-old Wayne James, who was also an employee who lost his job with the closure of the previous salon", said Liz, a former Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr pupil.

She said: "The property is on a lease. We have totally ripped out the old salon and revamped it. Everything is new. There was good clientele before and that is why we have stayed at the same location." Liz added: "We have changed the colour charts, so it is new colours and styles."

We have already had a lot of interest.
