Barclays New Appointment Finance Picture

Barclays has appointed John Union as Head of Swansea, Mid and South West Wales, Barclays Commercial Bank.

Based in Pockets Wharf Swansea, John will be responsible for managing and developing a team of Relationship Directors and locally based support staff offering Welsh businesses with a turnover from £1 million to £1billion access to industry focused business support.

Commenting on his new appointment, John Union said: "From my previous experience in the Commercial arena, I understand that business customers need access to a whole range of products and services, with tailored solutions according to their individual needs. Meeting with customers to discuss their business and gain an understanding of their individual requirements will ensure that we can provide customers with innovative and bespoke financial services which make a real difference to their business"

John continues "We recognise that within the current climate businesses can experience financial difficulty. The success of our commercial business banking customers is of prime importance to us and the Barclays Commercial Bank Business Support Team. Customers deserve and should expect a high level of support and expertise from their bank and if they’re not getting it, should consider moving their accounts. Barclays Commercial Bank will continue to support and lend to viable UK businesses during these challenging and unprecedented economic conditions. We are very much open for business. In fact, our lending to commercial businesses in the UK was up by 14 per cent in 2008."
